“Therefore the disciple, the one Jesus loved, said to Peter, “It is the Lord! ” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he tied his outer garment around him (for he was stripped) and plunged into the sea.”
John 21:7 HCSB
Peter had still not faced up to his three decisions he made in denying Christ. Yet as soon as He saw his Lord he ran out into the sea only clothed by his outer garment a hundred yards away!
This testifies that we need not be afraid of God when we mess up. In fact the more familiar we are to His love it should all the more cause us to run to Him. This is what makes Peter, Peter.
