Christmas in many ways ushers in such a compassion for the poor and less fortunate. Salvation Army is ringing the bell at the entrance of every store. Church’s nationwide and in many cases worldwide hold toy drives, clothing drives, and countless other fundraisers. It is the season of giving and compared to any other holiday, nothing comes close. Now please do not think I am criticizing these things because that is not the case, not by a long shot. But what I have been thinking about is this. What is God in His mercy right now in the present uses this holiday as a reminder of how we should be every hour of every day? What if we lived life this way at all times rather than just for thirty plus days after Thanksgiving till the time this holiday is over. Though the world doesn’t see it this way, Christ calls us to this live style. May we reflect the love of Christ at all times and may we reflect the generosity of Christ not just in a season but at all times throughout our whole life, continually.
